An Organization for Action, Enforcement Enhancement, and Reform

When we reach for justice, we are all the same.

Founding Message
Guiding Justice was founded because looking to many organizations dealing with crime prevention, the type of organization we wanted to get involved with did not exist. So Guiding Justice was founded. I hope you will help.

Goals
The goal of GUIDING JUSTICE is to make a meaningful difference:

  • To help improve the enforcement and effectiveness of laws and the judicial process
  • To maintain focus and accountability on the crime, the criminal, the legal process, the enforcement and application of the law, and criminal punishment
  • To provide assistance and support to victims and their families dealing with uninvited media intrusions into their lives and help them make sense of the myriad of support services available to them
  • To help victims and their families manage their uninvited situations

GUIDING JUSTICE is a non-partisan, educational, watchdog and support organization that can be embraced by anyone who believes criminals should be held accountable for their crimes.

Through strategic alliances, a coalition of agencies, organizations, law enforcement, legal scholars, legislators and activists, Guiding Justice can help eliminate cracks in the system to help prevent and deter the commission of crimes, and, to seek justice when there are crime victims. The result of establishing and coordinating a broad-based contingent can be a real difference.

Guiding Justice believes

  • It's time to make the matter of public safety, welfare and well being public.
  • Criminals should be punished in meaningful ways.
  • Criminal punishment should fit the crime.
  • Punishment should not be watered down.

Whether someone opposes capital punishment or supports it, or whether someone is for legal gun ownership or not, most everyone can agree that criminals must be punished for their crimes and the terror their actions invoke on victims, victims'  families and the community.

Through analysis, including statistical methods, crime, enforcement, prosecution and punishment will be evaluated to assess what is working and what is not, and, specific measures will be employed to stimulate improvement where needed and accommodations and continued support exerted for what works right.

Through an integrated combination of Web based, print and other media, GUIDING JUSTICE will maintain crime status information on violent crimes, their prosecution, results and punishment. We will examine the system and bring attention to its shortcomings with recommendations for improvements. We will identify those areas of the legal system requiring additional funding or more efficient spending and inform legislative members of the results. These results and recommendations will be extensively publicized.

The legal system is designed to protect the innocent, not to get criminals off on technicalities. If criminals aren't being punished due to insufficient funding for police detectives then GUIDING JUSTICE will bring focus to that matter. If detective training is falling short. GUIDING JUSTICE will address that. Criminals and the legal system, including judges, prosecutors and defense attorneys must be accountable for their actions.

Status information detailing the cost and amenities offered to the imprisoned, as well as what portion of sentences are served will also be part of GUIDING JUSTICE data.

The public has a right to know how laws are being enforced. We are entitled to be protected from criminals and legal corruption. Too often the victims and the crimes are lost in a sea of politicking, media buzz and distraction from the issues. Everything seems terribly flipped around. GUIDING JUSTICE wants to make things clear. GUIDING JUSTICE will be there to remind everyone of the victims, the crimes committed, the perpetrators and their punishment. GUIDING JUSTICE believes that punishment deters crime. GUIDING JUSTICE believes that crime prevention measures need to be aggressively employed. We believe pressure on our representatives and legislators will result in real improvements in the legal system. We appreciate your support.
